Why Tower and why Bridgeway?

Well, we live and worship in Tower Hamlets in London. At one time we both worked in public services in the borough.

Pro 18:10 The name of the Lord is like a strong tower; the righteous person runs to it and is set safely on high.

Psa 61:3  Indeed, you are my shelter, a strong tower that protects me from the enemy.

We believe that born-again believers should be people who pray and who allow the Holy Spirit to shape their values and behaviours every day; their lives should exemplify love, honesty and sincerity (Ephesians 4:30-32).

We believe that people who have been born again grow in sanctification—which means that they separate themselves from the value system of the world and embrace and live according to the values of the kingdom that Jesus proclaimed. As they do so, they increase in holiness, faith, power, prayer, love and service (2 Corinthians 7:1).

Bridgeway was the name given to the Hossanna Fellowship when the Darnell’s returned to the US. We wanted to continue the connection with Bridgeway – the First Foursquare Church in the City of London. It also reflects Tower Bridge the most important site in Tower Hamlets as well as the concept of a prayer tower.
